Etienne Pot has officially taken charge of Santé publique France, the agency responsible for improving and protecting the health of the population. The 40-year-old physician specialises in public health and addiction medicine.
Pot was appointed by a decree signed by the French president on October 19. He had been serving as the agency’s interim director general since August 17.
People who worked with him in his previous role as interministerial delegate for the national strategy on neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as during his medical studies, describe him as direct, pragmatic, approachable and enthusiastic.
