The tables in the 2026 Nature Spotlight: Neuroscience rank institutions using Nature Index research articles published between 2021 and 2025. Rankings are based on a metric called Share.
The analysis uses a subset of 128 Nature Index journals, excluding titles in fields unrelated to neuroscience. Neuroscience articles were identified in 125 journals through a combination of search terms, including keywords and fields of interest, in Digital Science’s Dimensions database.
The dataset also includes all Nature Index articles from three journals: the Journal of Neuroscience, Nature Neuroscience and Neuron.
