Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk is pictured during a spacewalk on Oct. 29, 2026, with Earth in the background. At the time, the International Space Station was about 267 miles above the South Atlantic Ocean.
Kutryk and NASA astronaut Anil Menon installed a new roll-out solar array and completed preparatory work for their next spacewalk, scheduled for Nov. 5, 2026. During that outing, they are due to install the station’s eighth and final roll-out array.
Together, the eight arrays are expected to increase the space station’s available power by up to 30%. The image is credited to the Canadian Space Agency.
